5/05
Crazy
month, mostly consumed by the mad rush to get the new CD into
our hands before our tour in June! I experienced madness at
my 9-5 gig - I work in television and May is the month of sweeps.
I got so stressed out at one point, I nearly had a meltdown.
But thankfully, I survived and its over.
Only
two shows this month. The first was on the 19th at the Alphabet
Lounge in NYC. It's a cool little place, we had a good time.
Luca's parents were visiting from Italy and they got to see
him perform. His mom loved the music and bought a CD (yes, even
our mom's pay for our CDs! If a band can't count on those closest
to help pay for the costs, who can a band count on?) The only
problem with the Lounge is that the stage has a railing in front
of it. The restrooms are behind the stage, so probably, for
legal reasons, the railing has to stay where it is. It is odd,
though. Thanks to Susan, Roger and all of Morgan & Nedge's
peeps for coming out that night. We had a decent turnout and
they've asked us back.
Our
other show was a return to the Blair Arts Fesival in Altoona
PA on the 22nd. The ALTOONA MIRROR did a nice story on the fest.
They had interviewed me beforehand and for the first time in
bn9's history, there was not a single misquote! Everything in
quotation marks is something I actually said, and I don't sound
like an idiot for a change! The festival was great - top notch
sound system, excellent sound guys. Jack recorded it onto his
minidisk and it sounds great! No wonder we sold so many CD's.
We actually ran out. I realized, on the way there, that I didn't
replenish the box of CD's, and sure enough, there were not enough.
People were coming up to buy them after the 2nd song! That felt
great, and it's part of why we love Altoona so much. People
have open minds and are super super nice & friendly. We
will be back in Altoona on July 15ht and we all look forward
to it.
The
month ended with me struggling to finish my solo CD, which is
also panicked and rushed! We're now gearing up for our 11 day
tour and everyone is pretty excited. Please tell your friends,
if you have any in the midwest. We could really use all the
support we can get!
peace,
stefanie
