Dear Surfer:

Wow, I missed March. I think 3/07 is the first "Dear Surfer" I ever skipped. Well, not much to report. Camari is MIA -- I haven't heard from her but it seems that she is no longer in blue number nine. Morgan is around did a show with us on April 21st. We now also have Doreen Younglove and Paul Munoz. And Karyn Smith is working out great on guitar.

This month, we booked a bunch of Jersey City shows (the first is May 18th). Should be fun. We'll be playing in Journal Square outside at lunchtime. We played on the 6th out in Levittown, NY (Long Island) at the Vintage Lounge. THANK YOU to all who came out to that show! We only got through about 2/3rd's of our set list. The first band started the night off late and I feel like we got cut off. The owner really liked us, but everyone in the band is kind of tired of playing these types of venues - the kind that cram in a million bands of differeing styles into one night and all bands play a rushed 45 minute set. Forty five minutes is a warm up! I've said all of this before, but people keep asking when we're going to play in the city again and the answer is that I really don't know.

On the 21st, we played a benefit in Altoona with BD Lenz on guitar, Doreen & Morgan on vocals. The drive there was uneventful, the gig was great, but driving back was somewhat hellish. It's a long drive (5 hours) and we got home at 4am -- not fun... I had to tutor the next day. Also not fun. But like I said, we had a fun time at the show. It was a benefit concert for their summer concert series. Nice to see some familiar faces in the audience, and the food was good and we were treated nicely, as always. We love Altoona!

We also worked on some new songs this month and brought on a few new singers - Paul, Viola and Ilise, so look for them at upcoming shows. Doreen will also be performing often with us.

Sorry my Dear Surfers have been so short! Please order your copy of our new DVD. Visit the MERCHANDISE page.

peace,

stefanie
